This Little Piggy Got Audited

Last week, This Little Piggy and I were audited!

As a pig farmer, I have gone through something called “Pork Quality Assurance training” which is designed to educate farmers to use the best farming methods to promote food safety. The pork industry has added another step to their proactive approach with the Common Swine Industry Audit to ensure we are raising our pigs in the best way possible.

We spent four hours combing through our farm processes, documentation, treatment records and assessing the animals and their environment to make sure we’re following and caring for our pigs to the best of our ability. It was quite the afternoon, but this is how we make sure we have the safest pork supply in the world.

Thomas Titus

Thomas and his wife, Breann, raise pigs on their farm in Elkhart, IL with their two daughters Reagan and Lakin. They strive to be good stewards of the land and humanely raise their animals so that they may pass the farm to the next generation as their parents did for them.
