Hormones are measured in nanogramsThe amount of phytoestrogen in a steer is way, way, millions of nanograms less than even a baked potato! Kinda throws the whole “hormones are horrible” argument in the face of the arguers I feel that our food is safeVery, very secure in the safe and natural way we as Americans are provided our food supply. We have so much land and so much prosperity due to the hard efforts of our agricultural sector and everyone involved with it. I was blown away by the harvest effortsAmazed by the logistical coordination it takes to run an efficient harvest of corn! Lynn was running one grain cart between two combines, and routing four semis to take the corn over to the dryer. They had it down to a science. Very amazed! Use of information to evaluate and improve each yearI was equally amazed by the technological involvement and the whole aspect of using GPS to accurately pinpoint the nutritional components/content of the soils, the yields of crops, and the ability to really dial down and improve year after year for best results! Value of the ethanol byproductsWhen you ship the corn out to the ethanol plant, you ship 56 lbs. of corn and get 30 lbs. back in useable feed components for the cattle. Not much lost in producing ethanol. My mind was changed or at least better educated on ethanol! |
