My first farm tour

My family drinks about six gallons of milk a week, so seeing just where it comes from was insightful and interesting. I know, for myself, I believe that milk is milk. Ultrasounding cattle

I never would have guessed that you could use an ultrasound for obtaining information about the cattle that would be useful in feeding and selling them.

Technology

I was impressed by how technologically advanced farming is. The combine could almost run itself!

Recycling

I like how everything at the farm is used and reused. Recycling at its finest! (grow corn, feed cattle, gather cattle manure, spread on fields to grow more corn)

Natural pest management

The use of Texas wasps to combat flies is ingenious. What a way to naturally fend off pests.

How we get different kinds of milk

The homogenization process is where we get skim, 1%, and 2% milk.
